OHV Trails in South Carolina TNT Motorsports Inc. K-Barr Carolina Adventure World National ForestsThere are two National Forests in South Carolina managed by the Supervisor's Office in Columbia, South Carolina, and five Ranger Districts. The Sumter National Forest covers 360,811 acres in the mountains and piedmont. The Francis Marion National Forest covers 252,201 acres in the coastal area of South Carolina. It has 2 Ranger Districts: Wambaw and Witherbee. The Sumter has 3 Ranger Districts: Andrew Pickens, Enoree, and Long Cane. To bad you can't ride on hardly any of it. Click one of the links below for more trail info- You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the information (www.adobe.com) Warning- Seasonal closures for Parson's Mt, Cedar Springs and Enoree from end of December until the first of April. Wambaw is open all year. Permit and fees apply for each location. State ForestsManchester OHV Riding Area: Located southwest of Sumter SC is the Manchester State Forest. Riding is restricted to 3 loops plus a new 9-mile singletrack trail. Riding in the general forest area is not permitted. The riding area is only open Sundays during deer hunting season. Directions: From Columbia drive east or Sumter drive west on US 378. At SC 261 (Stoplight) drive south for 8.8 miles and bear right on Sumter County S-43-51 (toward Rimini). The entrance to the parking is approximately .6 mile on the left. Hours: Dawn to dusk. Camping: Poinsett State Park Information: Manchester State Forest, 6740 Headquarters Road, Wedgefield, SC, 29168, 803-494-8196 A $5 daily fee is required or a $25 annual permit can be purchased.
